BPP University Law School students enjoy visiting Lyons Davidson offices in Yorkshire
BPP University Law School students had the chance to see legal eagles in action during a special visit to Lyons Davidson’s offices in Leeds.
More than 20 GDL, LLB, BPTC and LPC students attended the firm’s Open Day event to see a presentation, have a tour of the offices and a networking session with employees from different departments at Lyons Davidson.
Adam Green, a solicitor in Lyons Davidson’s Group 3 Recoveries section, gave the presentation on different structures of law firms (traditional and ABS).
Adam advised students that they should apply to firms that have the right culture and structure to suit their needs and enable them to excel in their careers.
Group 3 Recoveries supervisors, Sam Higgins and Mohammad Yusuf, then took the students on a tour to give them a crucial insight into a law firm in practice.
The networking event included Lyons Davidson employees in Personal Injury, Contract Resolution, Property Disputes, Recoveries, Employment and Advocacy.
BPP University Law School students also had a chance to talk to Paralegals, trainee solicitors, Associates, Solicitors, Team Supervisors and Advocates.
BPP University Law School would like to offer a special thanks to Lyons Davidson’s recruitment and social committee for organising the event and to all of the employees who attended the networking session.
Kate Bassett, Head of Careers at BPP University Law School in Leeds, added: “Lyons Davidson provided a comprehensive overview of the difference between an ABS and a traditional law firm structure.
“Some of the students attending were preparing for interviews at ABS firms and were able to use this information to help them with their interview responses.
“The students were also able to meet a number of BPP alumni working at Lyons Davidson and ask about the application process and job opportunities.”
