LLM programmes set for launch at BPP University Law School to train next generation of solicitors and barristers

BPP University Law School is proud to announce it is launching two LLM programmes tailored specifically for solicitors and barristers.

The LLM Legal Practice (Solicitors) and LLM Legal Practice (Barristers) will welcome its first intakes in September 2017*.

Both programmes allow students to select from a range of LLM modules and each qualifies for a postgraduate loan of up to £10,280 from the Student Loans Company.

Jo-Anne Pugh, Joint Director of Legal Practice Course programmes at BPP University Law School, said: “This is an integrated, practice-focused programme which has employability at its heart. Students can tailor their own programme to the area of law they wish to practise, by choosing three from a wide range of elective modules and a ‘Practice Ready’ module, which can have a business, skills or work-based learning focus. It is a challenging and rewarding programme enabling students to acquire further knowledge and skills that are of real value in current legal practice.”

James Welsh, Joint Director of Bar Professional Training Course programmes at BPP University Law School, added: “This LLM is designed around flexibility, choice and transparency. With stakes as high as they are, it would be very wrong to push all students onto a single-speed option. There are a number of choices in how to complete the LLM, and, importantly, we have a route which includes business strategy and negotiation, giving candidates a chance to develop skills valued by employers.”

Students will also have the chance to get involved in practical legal work with BPP University Law School’s award-winning Pro Bono Centre and the programmes combine classroom study with online learning.

Those studying the LLM Legal Practice (Solicitors) programme can choose either a one-year full-time (but with an optional nine months completion) route or the two-year part-time (optional 21 months completion) option.

This programme will be available at BPP University Law School’s study centres in Holborn London, Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge, Leeds, Liverpool and Manchester.

Those wanting to study the LLM Legal Practice (Barristers) can select from either the one-year full-time option or part-time (two-year) programme.

These classes will be held at BPP University Law School’s study centres in Holborn London, Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds and Manchester.
