After the global recession of 2008, and the huge bailouts to the financial sector that followed, it was expected that the financial institutions would act responsibly and not let the confidence of the people regress into dismay. What to read from your CFA® results banding

Moving from Level 1 CFA ® to Level 2…

First of all, if you are reading this you probably got through Level 1, which is no mean feat. It is fair to say that for many people Level 1 is the hardest of the three exams. This is not because individual questions are tricky, but because there are just so many of them! Also, you have to judge each exam you sit in life on relative terms i.e. what are you expected to know to pass compared to what you knew when you started studying. If you think of that as a ratio, I think the ratio is biggest for CFA Level 1. more

“BPP provided excellent and thought provoking courses designed purely to ensure success first time.”

BPP provided excellent and thought provoking courses designed purely to ensure success first time at each stage of the Chartered Wealth Management (CWM) exams. When is the best time to start studying for CFA® exams?

I believe that for most people, the optimal time is to get going after the psychologically important break over New Year if you are working towards the June exam. Is it worth starting earlier than that? Well, it depends really. There is a risk that something you study in October has been forgotten by May. On top of that, the best study time is when you are properly engaged in what you are studying. If the exam is in the next calendar year, inevitably the pressure is less intense and the efficiency of your studies drops. more

It’s a question of ethics…

How do you deal with the ethics section of the examination? The first thing to realise is that everyone is in the same boat regarding ethics. They are the rules of the club (CFA® Institute) you are looking to join, and no one outside that club will be particularly familiar with them. So you have to roll up your sleeves and make a start. more
