Meet the tutor – Charlotte Partington
Name: Charlotte Partington
BPP Location: Manchester
How long have you been with BPP? 7 years – I started in Birmingham before a move to Manchester 2.5 years ago.
What did you do before you came to BPP?
Internal Audit and then Management Accountant for Cadbury Schweppes
Why did you choose a career in Accountancy?
Because of the variety of job roles as well as the scope for international relocation
Why did you become a tutor?
Having had a good experience as a student at BPP I wanted to be able to help people in the same way. My degree was not in Accountancy and I particularly wanted to help students with similar, non-financial backgrounds who may at first feel intimidated by accountancy and finance.
What ACCA Papers do you teach?
F1, F2, F3, F5, P3, P5
Best thing/ what do you most enjoy about being an ACCA tutor?
The feeling you get when a student who has struggled contacts you to say they’ve passed.
What’s your top tip for students studying towards their ACCA exams?
Don’t leave studying to the last minute and cram. A more consistent approach to study from the outset will ensure you retain knowledge from the lower papers to help you with the higher levels.
If you weren’t an accountancy tutor, what would be your dream job?
A television news reporter.
